This spacious 400-square-meter apartment, designed by Anna Agapova, embodies the essence of Northern European style—minimalist, warm, and deeply personal. Created for an art-collecting family, the design strikes a thoughtful balance between functionality, comfort, and artistic expression.
The client, an avid art lover, envisioned a home where their extensive collection of contemporary and modern artworks would take centre stage. Anna Agapova responded with a concept that transforms the apartment into a living gallery, where each wall becomes a canvas for curated pieces. The result is a refined, art-centred interior that celebrates creativity without sacrificing the intimacy of a family home.
Soft textures, neutral tones, and carefully selected accent decor allow the vibrant artworks to shine. Custom lighting and layout solutions were implemented to enhance the visual impact of each piece, while maintaining a sense of calm and cohesion throughout the space.
This project is a testament to Anna Agapova’s signature approach: combining timeless European aesthetics with the personality of her clients, creating interiors that are both livable and inspiring.
At the heart of the apartment lies a generous 40-square-meter living room, seamlessly connected to the kitchen and dining area. Framed by expansive panoramic windows, this central space is designed to feel both open and intimate. The central artwork in the living room, displayed above the bespoke console table, is a striking piece by Ronald Kleijer. Part of his renowned series 1001 Portraits, the work celebrates the rich cultural tapestry of Uzbekistan, portraying its diverse, multi-ethnic communities with depth and humanity.

Hallway as a Curated Art Gallery
The hallway leading to the private quarters of the apartment — including the children's rooms — has been thoughtfully designed as a transitional gallery space. A collection of bright contemporary artworks brings energy and personality to the corridor. To allow the art to take centre stage, a calm and neutral palette was chosen as a backdrop. Subtle tones, clean lines, and soft lighting create an elegant visual rhythm, ensuring each piece is framed beautifully and appreciated as part of the home’s curated narrative.
